Data privacy is a check the box exercise to comply with the legal requirements for the proper handling of data including consent, notice and regulatory obligations. Data ethics is the cornerstone of responsibility in the digital age that ensures accountability for the fair use of data. Fairness to people is beyond legal compliance minimums and includes a full range of stakeholder considerations and harms prevention. Ultimately this has to happen operationally for engineering through to activation.
